GSV LIBRARYOur extensive collection of reference material is housed in a pleasant, air conditioned research centre on Level B1 257 Collins Street, Melbourne. The Library holds over 26,000 titles, including books, microfiche, microfilms, CDs and computer databases, also pamphlets, maps and periodicals. Since the GSV was founded it has accumulated a vast collection of records covering Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland and other countries and has links via the Internet to many more. Records include birth, death and marriage indexes and registers, passenger lists, census, cemetery, probate, occupations, convicts, family histories, local histories, the International Genealogical Index (IGI), and much more. We are also an agency for viewing original records microfilmed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Click here for further details. Our aim is to help you trace your ancestors. We have a team of volunteer research assistants to guide your research in the library, from the casual query to a personalised discussion with an experienced genealogist.
