For our meeting on Saturday 17th August, Sophie Kuzakov, President of the Berwick Pakenham Historical Society, has graciously accepted our invitation to speak to us about her Usatov Family – From Russia to Australia.
Sophie has a keen interest in family history as a personal hobby. Sophie’s talk is about the remarkable story of her Usatov family and their courageous migration from Russia to Australia during the tumultuous era of communism. It will transport you through the historical landscape, tracing the perilous routes taken by the family through Kazakhstan, China, and Hong Kong before finally finding a new home in Australia.
