Join our award-winning Ancestor Editorial Team!

The Ancestor Editorial Team works collaboratively to produce the GSV’s award-winning quarterly journal, and is currently looking to add new volunteer members to the team.

Each person takes responsibility for the content and timely delivery of one or more areas, including:

• Assessing submitted articles for suitability for inclusion and working with authors re: editing
• or rewriting submitted articles
• Liaising with GSV regular contributors (President and library staff), external contributors (RHSV and PROV), and with convenors of Groups and Circles
• Commissioning and/or writing plus editing ‘Getting it write’, ‘How to’ articles, and/or Book Reviews
• Visual layout of the journal
• Liaising with potential advertisers
• Administering the annual GSV Writing Prize

At least two team meetings per issue are held on a Monday afternoon, via Zoom - one to ensure that all content is on track, and the other to proofread the completed magazine. There is also email traffic among team members between meetings.

We would like to hear from GSV members who have an interest, skills, experience and/or qualifications in writing and editing.
