The Return of the VicTas Book Club

Bring along a book or two that has informed your family / historical research and that you think will help others. It will be a book about Victoria or Tasmania, fiction or non-fiction, that gave you further insight, understanding and information about your ancestors' lives. Be prepared to speak about it for a few minutes.
It would really help us add it to the book list if you have a sentence or brief paragraph describing it.

The Victoria and Tasmania Discussion Circle is for GSV members researching their family history in these two States. This meeting will take place on Zoom, and registrants will receive an email with the Zoom link.

More information about this Discussion Circle can be found at

3 3076 Victoria/Tasmania Research Day (Morning)

Victoria/Tasmania Research Day

Are you tracing your family roots in Victoria or Tasmania? Join us at the Genealogical Society of Victoria for a dedicated Victorian & Tasmanian Library Day.

Whether you're just beginning your journey to find your Victorian or Tasmanian ancestors or trying to break through a long-standing "brick wall," come along to get a taste of the GSV's specialised resources.

Each session begins with an introductory talk on researching Victorian and Tasmanian ancestors including what is available in our collection. Participants will then have time to explore at their own pace, with our experienced research volunteers on hand to assist.

Submit Your Questions
Once you have registered, to help our volunteers provide the most relevant guidance, please submit an outline of your query to gsv@gsv.org.au. This allows us to identify helpful resources in the GSV collection prior to your arrival.
Each session is limited to 6 participants to ensure everyone receives dedicated support.

GSV Members only, free of charge. Bookings are essential, please log in to access the registration form.

Location: Level 1, 10 Queen Street, Melbourne VIC 3000
